Anxiety flaring up, any words of advice?

Hello all, I hope you’re doing well. I’ve been on clexa for almost two years now and sometimes fall into a slump of sorts, and I was hoping someone may have some advice on what to do? I’m in my junior year of college, and everyday feels like a hurdle to get over. It’s harder to get out of bed and I can’t help but feel like I’m trapped in a sort of loop if that makes sense, the same tasks at the same times, the only thing that changes is the workload. I get stuck in my head wondering what the point of it all is. I still have things to look forward too, and I’m very grateful for them. I just find myself generally keyed up and anxious througout my days, I fidget all the time and have trouble focusing on my studies. Does this happen to anyone else? And what should I do?

You may need to change meds. See your doctor right away. Also try gentle yoga . The after effects last 48 hours. It really will help you

Book an appointment and speak with your GP. I m really sure they will change your prescription, with something else . Don t give up, you are young and you need to be positive...and you are not alone !

Good luck !!!

Sometimes people find this crops up if their brand of meds is changed.  Some people react to a generic one compared to a branded one.

Also if you're overworking yourself then it could be that and not the meds.  If you overload your body it can result in a flare up of anxiety etc., as anxiety often results in stress (physical or mental).  Once anxiety crops up we can get into a habit of automatically fearing it and so it starts the loop of anxiety / fear / anxiety off again.  The fear of fear.

Exercise is helpful as it raises the endorphins in the body making you feel good, and also agree with Vicky - try yoga.  Anxiety thrives on a stressed body, so learning to relax and go with those feelings will help.

But do see your doctor too.
