Anxiety getting worse due to sinus infection

For almost a week I have been fighting a cold and yesterday I was beginning to feel much better than late last night I developed an earache and went to see a doctor and got started on a strong antibiotic, I'm having increased anxiety and I'm afraid I will catch pneumonia, am I just over thinking it? I have never had a cold this bad before and the increased anxiety is getting the best of me

As long as you are taking your meds you are going to be fine...I have asthma very bad so trust me you are gonna be ok...if you smoke then this would be a good Time to stop cause it doesn't help with you symptoms...does your chest feel tight, hurt or like you cant breathe

My chest doesn't hurt and I'm able to take deep breaths, I'm coughing alot and it brings stuff out of my lungs, and I don't smoke

Go get some cough medicine the mucinex Helps with are getting stuff out of your chest

It could be the antibiotics causing the anxiety, this recently happened to me. I was on 20mg of citalopram managing fine for 3 years then recently had a throat infection and was put on antibiotics and after a couple of days on them I started having random panic attacks and horrible anxiety and even depression symptoms. I stopped taking the antibiotics and had to go back to my doctor and he increased my citalopram to 40mg to try and control the depression and anxiety.

My anxiety had already flared up before I started the antibiotic, my biggest problem is muscle tension from all the coughing and my throat feels full of phlegm

Just stay calm and try to relax! I am the same way when it comes to my anxiety/panic attacks. I constantly think something is wrong with me or that I’ll get worse. Even with new medicines, I think I’m going to get the worst side effect and die. You. Will. Be. Fine. I promise!

Thanks, I'm trying to stay calm and think positive but it is hard when you can't stop coughing and your throat and other muscles feel tight, I'm coughing up some phlegm but sometimes nothing comes up with my cough
