Anxiety has been troubling my sleep and which is causing terrible morning anxiety that last all day

I have been suffering with severe anxiety for a couple of months now. My mornings are the worst and it carrys throughout the day. I only sleep 4-5 hours and end up tossing and turning by 3am some nights. Anybody have any tips I am disperate.

No tips really, but you definitely are not alone. I been like this too. Mornings feel like a 5 hour panic attack. It slowly fades as the day progresses and gets more tolerable. I think I wouldn't have any anxiety if I didn't wake with it and start to panic.

Thanks. It is good just to hear that I am not alone. I feel like if I slept better I wouldn't wake up so early and just sit there and let my anxiety fuel up. I go to work and just sit there in a panic or if it is the weekend I dread the downtime becuase It also feeds my anxiety. There is no relief and I am so frustrated.

If not already talk to your GP and some CBT may be arranged.

You could also discuss Relaxation Techniques and Breathing exersises.

I medications are given, take them in the evening just before bed, they will help you sleep

You're not alone. I do this too and always wake around 2-3am. For me this is a big sign that my anxiety is in full throttle as I always wake early when I am at my worst.

You could try herbal sleeping remedies. I only take them when I am desperate but I do find they help. Also, camomile tea before bed has a nice soothing flavour and texture, as does hot chocolate

The other tip I would give you is: don't fight it. If you wake up at 3am and can't sleep, make a warm drink or read/watch something on television. I don't know about you but I found fighting it made me feel worse

Thanks for all the feedback. Just hearing that I am not alone is a big help. I have talked to my GP and they have tried 2 different meds both of which just make me sick. I was also given Xanax that I try to not take unless I know I am anxious before bed so that I do not become tolerant. I am seeing a therepist but the results are not coming fast enough. I am miserable and try to find distractions but find myself having attacks throughout the day, every day.

Id say five hours is a great night. Haha. You can try meditations that help you relax if you awaken. And try eating a light snack before bed. Something nutritious. Just to keeo blood sugars all level. It depends on your lifestyle on the relaxation part. Kids, husband that stuff all can amke it a bit more challenging to relax. Otherwise id say a nice relaxing bath. A cup of chamomile tea and a some relaxing audio book, meditation or whatever calm you the best.  You can even try a magnessium flake foot soak. The magnessium is calming. Epsom salt is weaker and a lower grade of magnessium then the magnessium flakes.

If you can learn to mediate wow it will make a difference. Even mindful exercises from utube help a ton.
