Anxiety I hope

Hello. I am 17 and have been suffering from anxiety for the past few weeks. it started when I was in class and felt a tickle in my lung when I exhaled and it gave me a huge panic attack, symptoms were; hot flashes, extreme discomfort, chills up and down back and around scalp, couldn't sit still. my mind raced with collapsed lung, heart problems, ect. My mom brang me to the urgentcare they took an x-ray said my lungs looked healthy, and they said it was just an outer lung inflimation thing and it was nothing to worry about. they gave me 2 prescriptions and sent me off. I felt fine after that, I thought all my problems were over. then, late at night I had another breakdown, with the same symptoms as before. I went to another urgentcare, 15 miles away because none were open near my area. they said that I had anxiety and I should work on mindfulness, breathing, and that sort of thing. they also took a urine test, EKG, and blood pressure, temperature, and it all came back as good. after that I have never felt the same. It has been constant anxiety. new symptoms have been showing up like cold hands, cold feet, shakes and shivers, heartburn and loss of appetite, stomach pains, and red and uncomfortable eyes. the symptoms worsen but they never go away. it has been around a week and I am so mentally exhausted, I feel stupider like I'm losing my memory and ability to think as fast as I could and I just want this to be over. I also visited my pediatrician and he took blood, urine, and other tests which all came back as good. I'm scared its somthing other than anxiety but all tests look good. what can I do to help myself? I don't want to take the Benzodiazepines for anxiety because I hate pills and how they make you feel, and they are addictive. Can somebody please confirm this isn't anything serious.

Hi. , x-rays has already proven your lungs are young , good and healthy ! Yay !! All your other symptoms you mention , yep sounds like panic to me ! Take your mind off your lungs , hold a squishy ball when feeling panicky , put your mind on that ball your squeezing until the panic subsides

thank you for your reply vicky, I will try that.

The fact that your testing came out normal says that you don’t have anything serious. Anxiety and stress can mimic other conditions.
I would suggest that if possible you speak with a counselor who can help you manage all of this. It’s very difficult to try and do this by yourself. They have suggestions as to how you can relax more and manage so that you can have a more peaceful life.
there are also many great meditations on YouTube for anxiety, sleep, stress, etc. They help calm you down. A very important part of stress management is proper breathing. Listen to some of the short meditations on YouTube for mindfulness breathing. Check them out!
try to think if there’s anything in your life causing you stress or anxiety .
anxiety symptoms can come and go as they please so what I found that helped was to have a relaxed attitude about them because the more you freak out about them, the more you will have. When I got symptoms is when I would lay down and listen to those anxiety meditations and breathing properly. It helps to ease the symptoms
Also when you have a strong immune system that helps combat the stress so make sure you eat healthy, stay away from caffeine, junk foods etc.

ok, thank you for reassuring nothing is wrong, I will definitely research mindfulness and breathing on youtube, thank you for your reply.

The good news is you had all these tests done and you are ok!! Sometimes our minds do play tricks on us-- I know. What helps me is making sure I’m taking my vitamins, eating the best I can and any kind of exercise. Even taking a dog for a walk is great!! Just keeping my mind busy is good.. Enjoy being 17!!

it’s very hard to deal with anxiety attacks and panic attacks on a daily basis I have both of those things and they are very hard to deal with you are not alone
