This is totally mad, was just cleaning the bathroom with some spray. The smell was so strong in my nose and throat like it was burning. I carried on, but now my throat is sore and I feel my breathing is funny.
Anxiety kicking in thinking I've done some damage. Didn't wear gloves my hands feel a bit funny.
It's cheap stuff from lidl, have used before without any problems but can't help worrying.
I do this sometimes too... Just open some windows and air things out. Wash your hands in the kitchen, not the bathroom, and if you have one, turn on a fan. For your throught, try drinking some water, then follow up with either warm lemon/ginger tea, or a cough drop, or both.
Basically the chemicals are forighn to your passages, and it hurts, but as long as you arent dizzy/passing out or spitting up blood, you should be fine. If you are truly concerned however, you may want to call the nearest Poison Control Center, or medical professional.
Cleaning sprays can irritate your nose, the fragrance in many is very strong, it will not last for long and will not do any long term damage.
A tip for next time is to spray the cleaner into a cloth instead of the surface then there will be less getting into the air, also make sure the window is open and extractor fan on if you have one.
I know what you mean about hands feeling funny, a bit soapy, the detergents are quite strong and sometimes a weak acid is used to dissolve limescale. Give your hands another good wash to make sure it has rinsed off, it is best to wear gloves, especially if you clean regularly as it can dry your skin out.
I do this all the time lol funny that it's not just me I thought I was crazy
but seriously itsa ll in your head because the chemicals have been strong and made your nose and throat feel weird you'll think into it and make yourself worse it'll wear off soon take care xx
girl. I totally sympathize. i can have anxiety over thinking about having anxiety. anxiety can literally be triggered by ANYTHING!. I am going to start doing Yoga if i can get myself to sit down and do it as my doctor says you need to love your whole body instead of focusing all the time on one part of the body which is the anxiety all the time.
The BEST tip EVER i have read on this forum for Anxiety that really worksI When you feel the anxiety climbing put your head under a faucet and splash your face with ice cold water. It works because the brain cannot think of two things at the same time so your neurons are tricked into thinking about the cold water not the anxiety! Try it!
That make so much since, I use a spray bottle, that mists, on myself and my son, to help stay calm. Mostly for my son, when he can't calm down. He has anxiety disorder as well. It works everytime, because it suprises him. I feel bad cause sometimes it makes him upset, but I'd rather console him that have a migraine because he started screaming lol
I would consult his doctor before using water to shock him out of a state of anything. He is only a child albeit your child but a human you should ask a doctor it sounds kinda drastic. For example I wouldnt put my kids head under cold water to get him to stop a crying fit for his own good, but i would do it to myself because I know the repercussions. In my childs case, I could cause some type of traumatic experience for him.
Im sorry if I come across strange. This really occurred to me as a child, I was slapped, beat with a belt, a wooden spoon, stood in a corner for hours, made to sit with soap in my mouth, beat with a switch.. all because it was for my own good. So now, I am careful not to touch my child at all unless its a hug or a kiss. My advice is to consult a doctor.
I am also feel like this... It's very useful ..... Try for this.........
The first time I didn't take any notice until someone pointed out my hands still smelt of flash :D then I began to worry about t harming me. Once I realised it hadn't I suddenly started to worry about the chemicals harming my cat (I have OCD and so my anxiety can do this.) in the end I stopped using them and went over to natural products for a while...Anxiety eh
