Hi everyone, I have been anxious for a couple months now and I recently observed that I have some issues with my memory. I am not able to concentrate and create new memories as much as I did before my first panic attack. I have an appointment scheduled but is anyone else experiencing this as well? I am trying to read some stuff about the memory and do some brain exercises to try to improve it. Any other suggestions? Thank you.
hi, i was talking to my mum the other day and she brought up an event in the past which i couldnt remember and ive been struggling with anxiety for about 6 weeks now its come out of nowhere so there may be a link but your never on your own and you will get there (thats what i keep telling myself aswell)
Hi there, thank you so much for the reply, I really hope we will get better soon! It helps to remind myself that sometimes we just forget things, and maybe our attention and focus is at fault.
I have a tendency to remind myself of who I am, the name of my parents and everything I know to be certain in order to ground myself in the present and calm down.
memory issues are very common with anxiety. Anxiety kind of messes up everything. it’s a stress on the brain so of course it can affect memory.
If you can bring your level of anxiety down you will feel your memory improve for sure. that’s the single most important thing to do. There’s some great relaxing meditations for anxiety on YouTube that are very helpful. Also some great breathing exercises for anxiety. The memory issue is not permanent it’s temporary with anxiety. You’re going to be fine!
