Anxiety - mental health specialist said

Hi

i have had depression and anxiety for years now. I have been on multiple medications. i have had CBT twice and counselling once.

Late august i felt really bad with anxiety, i wasnt eating much, wasnt sleeping, wasnt looking after myself, I would just get up and sit down for the day, not say or do anything. I was having suicidal thoughts, I have had them before but these were the worst. I couldnt control the anxiety at all. i phoned my gp up and got given a short course od diazepam. they calmed me down a bit. my gp said she would contact the mental health team to get back to me urgently. that was 1st september. over the weeks my gp was in contact with me nearly each week. was given a sleeping tablet as well as another short term of diazepam. on monday my gp surgery got in contact with me that the mental health team have an appointment for wednesday. i agreed and it was a phone call. tuesday i had wrote all my symptoms down, how i have been and questions about therapies, medication and maybe having ocd.

wednesday- i got the phonecall from a doctor, i didnt catch his name, i told him what had been going off and symptoms etc in response i just got "ok" told him i can not control the anxiety, i have reread my therapy notes to try and help as well as practicing what i learnt since 2018. brought up ocd and medication and all i got was "you will learn to control the anxiety, medication doesnt matter." i was really disappointed with the phonecall. i felt like i wasnt being listened to at all. i told him about my notes then after speaking on something else he goes "have you read your therapy notes?" I was given no help and offered nothing. i have got a gp appointment a week on monday and i will tell her what happened and ask for a second or another review as I did not think the "so called mental health specialist" listened to me at all and offered nothing.

So sorry to hear this, have been going through this myself.
