Anxiety & OCD thoughts....

Hi,

Recently I have been diagnosed with PTSD, Extreme Panic Disorder & Depersonalization.

Recently I feel like I'm going to die everyday & have these thoughts that I'm somewhere else (e.g floating up to heaven). Leaves me feeling confused & disorientated. Then I find myself constantly thinking about it & I try so hard not too. I can't focus on anything.

Or I constantly feel like my thoughts are on spin - don't make any sense. Then I feel like I'm going to black out / go go crazy.

My physical symtoms include -

- extreme headaches (sometimes just down one side of my head)

- pins & needles in head

- shaking

- chest pain

- feeling sick

Can anyone relate to these symtoms?

Yep thats what we all feel.

Have you tried any med?

Yes, but nothing is agreeing with me. :-/

I have been on -

Propanolol - made me hallucinate

Diazapam - Doesn't knock me out, makes me feel like i'm not here even more

Satralapam - shot me out of bed x2 and made me feel so ill.

Certraline - extreme headaches and prevented me sleeping

Well, i wander how long have you given them. The first 2 weeks on them is really difficult with the side effect. But after that you will get better. Usually on the 3rd week you will notice that light is there. I started them now and i am trying to go throu the side effect.

If your anxiety is messing with your life and it affects you in bad way then bear with the side effect a little in order to get your normal life.

Hope you best of luck

Hi K

All the symptoms you describe are just some of the typical symptoms felt with anxiety.

Have you tried any self help skills to deal with the anxiety when its happening and to mentally prepare yourself on how to deal with the ongoing issue.

It doesnt happen overnight but alot of the mindful meditation can really help but you have to work at it retraining your brain.

Anxiety cannot harm you it is a feeling and you need to focus on not giving into the feelings. Accepting whats going on at the moment and dont dwell on yesterday or tomorrow.

There are endless skills to help you deal with the way your feeling but it takes time to master them ... so be prepared for some hard work.... But if you want to recover and be healthy and quiet in your mind ... you have nothing to lose by trying but plenty to gain if it helps you.

I do lots of mindful meditation , i do progressive muscle training, and listen to positive daily affirmations..

And they really do help.

Good luck and persevere you are strong ... you can do this.

Thank you Gill.

Do you reccomend any mindfulness techniques?

I've just been speaking to my mum and literally felt like I was floating above my body, looking down on myself.

I feel like I have so many symtoms to deal with.

Driving me crazy!

If not so, talk to your GP now and let Him work out a treatment plan for your Anxiety. As your condition seems to follow the same route as many have here.

PTSD (Post Traumatic Shock Disorder ) needs to be addressed and you also need to move on. and get on with your life

BOB

Thank you Bob.

I am seeing someone on Monday who can hopefully help.

The thoughts/visions seem to be none stop. Quite concerning!

As forum rules do not allow any form of advertising.. I can only suggest that you look on the internet ... there are plenty that is how i found them

good luck and wish you well

I am glad you are going to see your GP

PleƤe let us know how you get on x

Sorry, didn't realise.

I sure will - thank you.
