Anxiety/Panic attacks

Hi I'm a 36 yr old male and have dealt wit anxiety on and ofg my whole life but mostly have it under control until i have a health concern and start to really worry over and over, Recently i noticed a change in my bowel movements and googled my symptoms, Of course the first thing that popped up was colorectal cancer, Since reading that i have been through severe anxiety, not sleeping well very very nervous Idk what to do I keep getting a on and off panic I'm so scared. One of the symptoms of colon cancer is weight loss and fatigue and blood in the stool. I don't really jave excessive fatigue or blood in my stool but I've been weighing myself daily and notice a few pound fluctuation of weight loss, I was 199 on Tuesday 198 yesterday and now this morning 196. I'm freaking out. I been to the Dr and had blood work done all my cbc complete blood counts are normal, aswell as liver functions, kidney and pancreas all came back normal. I have slight abdominal cramping and a minor back ache that comes and goes in my lower back. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy on Monday to check things out but I'm covinced i have full blown cancer and am wasting away and will be gone in a matter of weeks. If anyone has any advice please i would appreciate it, My wife is stressed and aggravated because of how repetitive I've been she says I gotta take control and relax but it's easier said than done..

Bloody Google!!! We all know we shouldn't Google symptoms, yet sometimes there's just that compulsion to do it. It never ends well. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Everyone's weight fluctuates several times daily. The anxiety could also be causing you to drop a few pounds. Just remind yourself that it's much more likely that it's something minor (or nothing). The odds of it being cancer are very slim. All the best x

I can relate.  My mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer 12 years ago, and has been declared cancer free for about 9 years.

I too have experienced changes in bowel movements, and this certainly had me concerned especially with my family history.  It is important to remember that there are so many things that can cause this change, most specifically: diet and stress.  What I did, when I first noticed this change, was to start a process of elimination.  Ultimately, I found that when I cut out soda and processed sugars, everything returned to normal.

If it sets your mind at ease, colorectal cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer there is when caught early.  You say you "recently" noticed a change.  Through my mothers experience, she complained of pain and discomfort for about 3-4 years before her doctor finally ordered the scope (could have easily been a negligence suit).  That means her cancer was probably growing for 6-8 years before being treated. She's still here today.
