I think I'm suffering from anxiety. I saw a doctor and he wasn't very helpful and I've got another appointment but it's not for another 2 weeks.
I've been getting chest pains off and on for a couple months. I've been to the hospital twice and had heart trace and bloods done and all come back clear.
I feel tense a lot, can't sit still, worry a lot, lost all interest in things, and today my face feels numb on one side.. Is this all normal anxiety symptoms. I just want to cry all time and feel scared.. I don't know what to do. .
You have all typical anxiety symptoms. They are frightening and how you feel is normal for anyone suffering from anxiety.Have you anyone you can talk to about how your feeling?Go back to your doctor and ask them to refer you for counselling.Do not isolate yourself as you will constantly be focused on the sensations.
Thank you I'm trying so hard to relax and not think about the numbness and pains.. my husband is working away tonight which is typical. He keeps messaging me and rings when he can.
When I saw a doctor few weeks ago, he was rubbish but gave me a leaflet for counselling and I've emailed them tonight as the office is closed.
I hate feeling like this, it's terrifying esp as I don't know what has brought it on and I just worry that there's something wrong.
Hi helen you need to see counsellor it will help you to take. There a group call let's talk anxiety group just Google it you can talk to them and how they feel it will help you. You not on your own x
Hi helen have you had a trauma in your life before this started. They told me that i had a trauma in my life what's causing the anxiety and stress building up in my body x
I know the hardest part is accepting that anxiety is causing all these horrible symptoms and sensations.Fear is the strongest emotion and to feel it for no reason is horrible.Doctors tend to dismiss it which can add to the worry.Your brain is hyperactive right now and your thoughts will be very frightening and dark. There is no quick fix but through time and a lot of hard work you will feel a lot better.
Thank you. I will check it out.x
No trauma no.. Had hard times in past. I've battled slightly with depression in the past bit not for many years and it's really flooring me 😢 x
A friend at work when I eventually told her I thought I was suffering anxiety said she'd noticed something hadn't been right for a while and thought I could be depressed or anxious. That shocked me as I always thought I hid my feelings well. I find it hard to speak to pepole about how I feel and I get angry with myself. It is and I keep telling myself I'm OK but when I'm scared to go to sleep I know I'm not.. Really hope I can get in to see the doctor tomorrow x
Hi helen did you have a trauma i your life before this happened. I was told I had a trauma in my life because the anxiety and stress is building up in my causing me to anxiety
Perhaps if your depression has increased it has caused your anxiety to increase as well.Perhaps medication would help again that's your choice.Think about did you feel more depressed before the anxiety kicked in?
Hi . All these replies are great , please take their advice. I hope the people here are reasuring you as they all have been through these horrid feelings your having. Docs , etc help, and your helping yourself by reaching out . I hid my anxiety for far too many years. Good on you. Keep speaking to lovely people here, anxiety will tell you the worst outcome , we will tell you the best. Talking here is like my therapy as well as other coping things I've learned help. Keep talking , ❤️
Thank you for your lovely message. I'm slowly starting to relax. Keep getting pins n needles /numbness in my calf and foot but know it's my body trying to play tricks on me so I'm trying to ignore it. It's definitely helping speaking to people here knowing they're going through or have been through the same. I keep my feelings hidden far too often and end up breaking down and loads of things come out at once. Guess I need to deal with things as I feel them..
Xx

it's very normal. i've been through it. hang in there for this new doctor. do whatever it takes to try and relax as impossible and as hard as that sounds. this may sound ridiculous, but going to get a massage for 30-60mins to ease tension actually works. i nice warm bath or lengthy warm shower...all soothing. good luck.
