Anxiety/ Shortness of Breath / Tight Chest

Just started having this tightness / Pressure chest feeling for about a week along with This Shortness Of Breath Sensation . I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder According to my Doctor.

The Pills I'm Currently On are.

Propranolol 20Mg once every morning

Citalopram 20mg (Celexa) once every evening

Hydroxyzine 25Mg 3X a day as needed for Anxiety

As far as I know I control the anxiety with the Medecine I'm currently on but I just started having these shortness of breath symptoms which is all new to me. Is propranolol causing this ? Also having chest tightness and pressure along with mild pain in the chest. Please help.!

Anxiety will do this. Practice deep belly breathing when this happens. It helps, I promise ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Thanks for the Reply! For how long do I practice the Belly Breathing ? Will this give relief to shortness of breath??

Hi. I sent a reply earlier but its waiting to be moderated. ๐Ÿ˜” I sent a youtube link on anxiety mediation. Please look them up, they are very very helpful. Meditating and deep breathing have gotten me out of panic mode. Its tough at the beginning but I just keep doing it until my breathing becomes more relaxed then I feel better, refreshed actually. Sometimes I meditate in my car on lunch with my headphones. People can just think you're listening to music! ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Thank you I will Definately look into it tonight. I have always controlled Anxiety with HydroxyZine 25mg & Propranolol 20mg but for some odd reason I just started getting these New Symptoms Chest Pain ,Tight Chest Feeling associated with Shortness of Breath about 5 days ago after I had just got a panic attack /:

Please do try it. I would be so happy if I was able to help in any way. โ˜บ๏ธ

I'm grateful for this forum so people have others to talk to about all this.

I took a quick glance at those videos Anxiety Mediation Videos & they are about an 1hr long.. I really do appreciate your help and advice. I'm just didn't think anxiety could even cause chest pain...

There are much shorter ones. I have one that is about 7 minutes and another that is only 15 minutes or so. Keep looking! โ˜บ๏ธThey really do help slow down the breathing and racing heartbeat.
