Anxiety support groups

Hi everyone I used to run one near where I work in central London. I would like to start another one somehow. Though wondering if people would find it useful ie would they attend one in their local area? The one I ran was a great experience but the attendance was very patchy - though I guess that's the nature of anxiety it's hard to commit to things because of how we feel. Any thoughts appreciated :-) Fran x

Hi I would love to go to something like this near me its just a shame I live in Yorkshire sad

Same here, shame I stay in glasgow sad will look into ones in my area xx

Aww thanks Laura. I'm surprised there aren't more groups around the country. I think it's important that anxiety sufferers meet fellow sufferers and connect in person. It can be a very isolating condition. Perhaps through this site people could feel inspired to start some meet ups......?

Sure they work well in North West and Midlands

Excellent Jimmy. Nothing really at all in central London or nearby!

All the ones O know of strangely enough were in rural areas. The does seem to be more sense of commuinty in the rural area rather than big cities. When I was in midlands Birmingham was horrific for care burt if you went south in to Warwickshire and Worcesterhsire things seems to be a little better

Yes I think your right about the sense of community in rural areas. Alas central London isn't great for that despite there being a lot of social housing etc in my area.

Also Depression affect all age groups as too. Unlike some other illness which seem to increase in risk with age such as heart disease and cancer ( althouth I know these can effect a small number of youngsters )
