Anxiety & Swollen Lymph Nodes

Hi all,

I would like to know if anyone else has had any experience with the lymph nodes in thier neck swelling due to anxiety? A couple of years ago, I had a breast cancer scare (it turned out to be nothing) but had severe anxiety about it. The lymph nodes in my neck swelled up, I ended up having one out to be tested after a few months of them being swollen as the Drs didn't know why they were swelling. Tests for anything bad came back negative. I forgot about it for a couple of years after all the tests came back OK

A couple of months ago, I found a lump in my foot (which I am waiting to have an MRI on) and am really anxious about it, and again the same lymph nodes in my neck are swollen again. It just seems like too much of a conicidence for it not to be related to the anxiety! Any advice would be appreciated smile

Guess i would go to the Dr to get it checked out. hope the MRI is negative

Have you mentioned this to your doctor - I think you should.

Lymph nodes become swollen in response to illness, infection, or stress. Swollen lymph nodes are one sign that your lymphatic system is working to rid your body of the responsible agents. Swollen lymph glands in the head and neck are normally caused by illnesses such as: ear infection. the mri will show what is going on woth foot..that could be a swollen node as well or a little fat clump under the skin hopefully it is nothing to be anxious about.

Thank you for your replies, I am due to go to the Dr's on Monday so will ask him then.... I just wondered if anyone else has had any similar experiences. Thank you

The lump in my foot feels bone hard and isn't moveable so I don't think it's a lymph node. It feels completely different. Thank you for your reply x
