Anxiety has started taking a bad toll on my body physically. I constantly feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders and I always worry. I always have what ifs. I find it so hard to try and just relax. My mind's is always thinking. I don't think it ever stops going.
It is exhausting and debilitating. It does lower the immune system as well. There are options but you probably wont like them. If you havent been able to manage them via therapy and cbt or some form if self calming theraoy then you might need medication to help you. Hopefully a medication will work. Thats all becomes trial and error. Theres no cure in a pill as yet.
Thank you Lisa. I have recently started doing deep breathing exercises and yoga. They seem to be helping a little. I guess it may take awhile to see actual results. I mainly have stomach problems because of the stress and anxiety
The main huge nerve the "vagus" nerve and there are others. But that one runs from the brain to the belly. Adrenaline, cortisol and epinepherine like acid runs thru there when you have an anxiety attack or on a low level of constant with GAD so yes it effects the effects the belly. Yoga is good. Belly breathing helps calm the vagus nerve which is why deep belly breathes are so calming..again back to yoga..very good they incorporate that. Yes be patient it takes lots of time. The yoga will be your action against all this. So you need to work on your thoughts as well. Cbt can help with that..they even have workbooks you can acquire to self learn this.
Eat small healthy meals as well. Six little meals a day day rather then three big ones. That will help your belly too.
Hello amy
Ask your GP for an appointment with a CPN they can give instruction in relaxation Techniques. There are also books on Mindfulness Relaxation Technique on Amazon.
That may give some relief
