What do you do for your anxiety? I know i have horrible anxiety but i try and make myself believe its something more and im gonna die and its just going downhill. I never feel good, cant sleep, cant eat, always in a bad mood. I am not on any medicine and i believe i need to be. What do yall take for anxiety?
so I've had anxiety my entire life starting in grade school and I am now in my 50s. I've had many symptoms of anxiety and I used to think the worst but now I know it's nothing that's going to hurt me. Any symptoms related to anxiety cannot hurt you. It can be scary and you can have weird symptoms but that's all it can do. I used to worry like you are doing now but then I realized this cannot hurt me and worry does me no good except make me feel worse. Actually when you worry the brain sends out adrenaline which can create more anxiety. And racing heart
. So the key is to calm down the brain because that's where all anxiety begins.
anxiety leads to negative thinking which leads to more anxiety. You have to get control over your thoughts which is very important.
don't try to fight off the thoughts. What you do is acknowledge that you have a certain thought calmly, and then imagine it floating off and dissolving.
Our negative thoughts are not a part of us. They are made up in our minds and we can get rid of them.
do this every time you get a bad thought. After sometime your mind will do it automatically for you.
I highly recommend that you listen to guided meditation's for anxiety on YouTube. They are excellent and completely relax my mind and body. They teach you how to separate negative thinking from yourself. Just search for guided meditation for anxiety or for sleep or depression etc. there are many to choose from. I have learned so much from them including the proper breathing technique when you have anxiety. I put in my earbuds and lay down to listen and do it a couple times a day.
mindfulness is a technique that is sweeping the World and it teaches you how to regain your peace of mind and live a happy life. It's a white covered book with a ball of string on the front.
you can really ease your anxiety a great deal by listening to the meditations, getting the book if possible, staying active and social, and eating healthy. Be good to yourself and don't forget to smile and laugh.
The worst thing you can do is sit and think about this all day because that will also make your anxiety way worse.
Try not to take life too seriously because nothing is worth losing your health over .

I am not on any anxiety meds. I dont want to get addicted Ive heard so many stories, so Im trying my best to do without.
Hi Megan,
The post above this one is great! I use guided meditations also and they can really help.
My anxiety has heightened recently after an awful job, for me I have decided to use medication and therapy. I have been taking Citalopram for 3 and a half weeks and start my therapy in 2 weeks. I'm keeping positive that I'm making the right steps for me. Everyone is different and some things that will work for you won't work for others, try the meditations and see how you get on
All the best x
