Anxiety

Hi, I have had dreadful anxiety and taken sertraline for past 6 weeks but dreadful muscle pains in arms and neck and restless legs preventing me from sleeping. doctor now prescribed fluxotine and said take 1 sertraline every other day for a week, have a day gap then start 1 fluxotine a day but I'm terrified that anxiety will get worse again before it gets better as I have a holiday coming up and don't want to ruin it with anxiety and panics or because I already have sertraline in body - should the swap hopefully be seem less?

I hope you have a great holiday . Have you tried Positive thinking ( mindfulness) .
It’s the latest thing I’ve been trying. I went to a group program. It was difficult at the beginning, but began to make sense as it went on. You could get your Dr to refer you for attendance. is usually a waiting list, but it will be worth it. Make sure you interact with the other attendees, as often they will be able to tell you what works for them. You will be surprised how many people have these issues. You are not alone. Pauline

Hi I use to get terrible anxiety and panic attacks. I think sertraline and fluxotine are more activating when I tried them they made my anxiety worse. If it’s not depression maybe ask your Dr what his opinion is on Mirtazapine as its sedating you take low dose at night I think higher than 15 mg is more activating. It worked very well for me though you feel very tired and zombie like for 1st or so week that wears off, luckily when I was on them I was able to have large coffee in morning to help even though I can’t usually tolerate caffeine. I know some people take a SSRI in the morning and low dose mirtazapine at night for sleep. I had no trouble stopping them slowly over a couple months and luckily my panic attacks never returned.
