Anxious about side-effects metoclopramide

Hello.

I'm feeling a bit anxious and I would like to get some insight from people here.

My doctor prescribed me metoclopramide for my anxiety related nausea. I'm always freaking out about side-effects and get scared by even reading about possible (rare) side-effects. I tested it for the first time today (half an hour ago or so) and am already worried about getting side-effects or being allergic to it (my throat feels like it's beginning to swell although that might as well be my anxiety, as I read about that happening if you're allergic to the drug).

The thing is that I'll be going on holiday later this week and I'm planning on taking the medication with me to take if really needed. I am not exactly keen on visiting a doctor during my vacation, partly because it's a social vacation and don't feel like explaining what's going on.

If today goes well and I don't have a reaction to the medicine, does that mean I also won't have a reaction to the medicine in the (near-)future?

Hi you shouldn't read about side effects as you are obviously highly suggestive.Try to relax you are not going to have any reaction and you will be safe to take it while on holiday

Hi, most side effects for this med are very rare so put your worry to one side, take the meds and enjoy your holiday.
