Anxious !!! Herpes ?? Ingrown hair ??? What is this ?????

a few days ago i noticed a mass on the outter part of my vagina, i didnt think much of it because i normally get sores after i shave as well as ingrown hairs, and sores from certin clothes. I AM NOW nervous because as i do notice there are hair follicles that could be irritating my skin i’m now beginning to see a white mass on the inner part of my labia and im very unsure as to what this could be. I have an apt to get checked tomorrow but id still like to know any opinions you all may have. ive looked at many pictures of herpes and other diseases and im just unsure as to where this one seems to fit into.

i have been sexually active with the same person for months now, and i just need to ease my anxiety of rhis being a serious disease or possibly something minor.
it doesnt hurt when i use the bathroom, i dont really have much discomfort unless it is touched, i recently had an abortion and i experienced a slight oder change with my discharge, which has not gone away. the redness seemed to have gone down and the boil like mass that it cause as well seems to have gone down.

please someone let me know.

They look like they could be HSV sores.
Your best bet is to go and get them swabbed while they’re new.
this will give you the most accurate result (best if within 48 hours to reduce chances of a false negative).

Your next option, if the sores are starting to heal, if to request an IGG and IGM type blood test.

IGG tests for antibodies, so it tends to be negative until roughly 4 months after exposure (HSV does not live in the blood, and it takes the body time to produce enough antibodies for a positive result).
However, this test is the most accurate with less false negatives than IGM.

IGM is ideal for newer exposure, but it tends to be less reliable than IGG. If you go the IGM route, if its negative, I would suggest carrying on as if youre positive and in 4 months retest with the IGG.

Its important to remember than HSV can lay dormant for YEARS without any symptoms, or symptoms so mild, theyre brushed off as things like ingrowns or irritation.

Its very difficult to pinpoint who or when you got it, as you yourself could be a carrier without knowing it.

Herpes is not tested for on routine STD tests, even if you ask to be tested for everything.

90% of the population has one form of HSV (HSV1 or 2, which can be both oral or genital), but 80% dont know theyre carriers.

I was diagnosed with HSV2 in May by my boyfriend who is a silent carrier.

Its not the end of the world. The virus carries a stigma with it far worse than the symptoms or physical impact.

ive done a bunch of research, and could write a novel.
Its an overwhelming diagnosis, but i can honestly say, the only time i think of it now is when im having an outbreak.
Its important to have a good support system in place, whether its family, friends, or strangers.

Go get the tests. its better to know, than not to know and be left wondering.
