Any help would be appreciated !! Yeast infection or herpes?

hi there,

my name is rachel. i had unprotected sex nearly four months ago with someone i barely knew which was really dumb. a few days after i started to get a really bad vaginal itch and no discharge but not to the point where i couldnt go to work. i wasnt in any pain nor had any flu like symptoms. before this i had never had a yeast infection nor knew what it was. it was my first real time having sex too. i went to the doctor a couple days after who said she couldnt identify sign of any infection although i didnt ask specifically about herpes because i knew nothing of it at the time. i took yeast infection cream and it helped however recently i have been extensively searching up about herpes .. i am very worried i have it.. and found information that a vaginal itch/ yeast infection could be a sign of herpes without having herpes lesions which i havent had. i still have a vaginal itch however it is so minor and the itch comes for like a second and then goes away so i rarely ever feel the need to scratch. however i have noticed a very minor anal itch also occur within the last month to month and a half - however we only had penetrative vaginal sex. my doctor is so convinced i dont have herpes and keeps reassuring me as i have seen her so many times and she has examined me a lot of times - however i went to a different doctor not my usual one when i had that intense vaginal itch.. i tested positive for chlamydia which i was treated for as well sorry that is important to note.. i have also noticed a dull ache every now and then in my left buttock however no lesions have ever appeared as well as a weird sensation in both legs/thighs/ sometimes butt but have tested negstive to every std including hiv.. anyways any help would be so appreciated as i am so worried and think that my parents and doctor are wrong about me not having herpes… could this yeast infection / vaginal itch that i originally had be herpes? thank you so much in advance

hi, the itch that is experienced with herpes is usually followed by an outbreak of blisters/ cuts/ sores. if you havent experienced any of these it is unlikely you have it. lots of other STIs can cause itch but since youve tested negative i wouldnt worry about that either. Thrush and BV also cause itch so it might be worth while asking for a test if the itching persists.
it seems like you are quite anxious and that can also make you more vigilant and hyper aware of any sensations in that area.
