Any help

Hi there,

my name is Tom and im 16. About 2 months ago I suffered a nasty bout of bronchitis, this was followed by chronic anxiety and panic disorder and after after many weeks of suffering I was prescribed fluoxetine 20mg. About 3 weeks age I started omeprazole for reflux caused by the anxiety but have lately especially in the past week been having really bad problems swallowing with pain, tight chest, feeling like someones strangling me and feeling like air just isn't getting to my lungs. I have been to many gp's and even a&e because of difficulties and the gp has either dismissed it as anxiety and even one said a sore throat! I am really struggling to believe this is to do with anxiety.

Any help would be appreciated

many thanks Tom

really does sound like symptons of anxiety, unfortunately.  Are you due back to see gp anytime soon?

It is anxiety, many of us sufferers have it. Unless you have any other symptoms, temp, flu etc... Then I would chalk it up to anxiety, you need to try and calm down, try something you like. Reading, walking, bike riding, gym, the mind is a very powerful thing. Hope things work out.

Hi thanks for getting back,

I have alot of health anxiety aswell mainly because of feeing this way it's just difficult to belive it is because im having real bad trouble swallowing even with water, it's like im choking all the time or have some asthma that just does'nt go.
