I am supposed to be getting off of my boot in 2 days but it still hurts so so much. I got surgery to fix two torn ligaments and a ruptured tendon around 2 months ago and i am currently trying to get out of the boot, but i can barely walk without having to reach for the walls or a crutch. the inside part of my ankle hurts and my heel has been hurting, along with my whole entire foot. although the doctor says this is normal pain, it is still frustrating and disappointing to not be able to complete goals and make progress as expected, throughout this journey all because of the pain. So if anyone has gone through something similar or has any tips on how to get out of the boot and start walking while dealing with the pain. then please let me know. i feel so stuck and hopeless that i can’t seem to be on track with what my doctor anticipated i would be able to do by now.
also…, side note: why does no one warn about the mental effect injuries can have on you. i always feel like the biggest crybaby but then i realize that i am in pain and I’m allowed to react to that. this has definitely been the one of the hardest parts of the recovery for me. anyone else? ![]()
