A week ago I got my implant removed as it gave me side effects. I went straight on to the pill. But today I've been so emotional, wanting to cry, sort temper. I don't feel myself and I feel on edge and anxious as I havent felt this down and angry and weird before. Do you Think it's just my hormones getting back to normal? Anyone else has this?
I got my implant removed a week ago too! I asked my provider how long the side effects will last and she said about 2 weeks. I didn't get on any birth control after, so I have no added hormones to my body right now and I can honestly say my anxiety has decreased.
As for you now if you're on birth control again, it could be your body adjusting to the new hormones you're putting in it. Let me remind you that the implant doesn't have estrogen, and birth control pills usually do have estrogen. So you are now introducing your body to new estrogen hormones which will give you those PMS symptoms.
Thank you for your reply! Do you think I should come off the pill as well to let my body get back to normal? I've never had This feeling before, it's horrible not being able to control my emotions.
If you are using birth control for something like irregular periods, PCOS, or acne that your doctor suggested it, then talk to them about it and see if it's safe to get off for a while.
If you're using it because you are sexually active and you don't mind using condoms, then yes, it will help to get off the hormones. It will help your anxiety

I was the exact same! I was on the implant for 9 months. I loved it but my anxiety did increase. Trust me getting off it you will feel a difference.
