Anyone else experience this pattern?

Aching began year ago July--shoulders & arms, then hips & legs. Dr. thought maybe Lyme's, put me on prednisone. Few weeks & disgnosed PMR. Aching disappeared (cooler weather?) & turned into daily fatigue. Several weeks ago aching returned (days in the 90's & high humidity) in shoulders & arms, but also fatigue. Went back up on prednisone to 15 from 10. I sense humidity is a factor. Also, just had blood test & sed rate was normal, even with continued aching. Shouldn't it show higher level?

HI Ron,  if the prednisone worked without a few days then it's most likely PMR.  You don't necessarily need to have raise blood markers.  Some people think that weather influences the symptoms, but personally I've never noticed it - and I live in a city of extremes. 40*C  plus in summer and -10*C in the winter.  Fatigue is part and parcel on PMR and pred doesn't really 'fix' it, although at higher doses you might feel more energized.

Many upon many of us have PMR with perfectly normal blood markers.  I am one of them. Disregard any advice you may get from doctors who imply that you have to have raised markers to have PMR. Simply untrue.
