Two weeks before I started with the symptoms of LS I had several days of
Diarrhea. Now I'm a month and a half into my life with LS and I still
experience days where this is the case. Then some days my movements
are normal. Anyone else having this issue?
I've had to deal with a number of auto immune diseases and found it hard to determine which is which. One thing I understood was that the colon needed attention in order to help the various health issues. I started to use colostrum, a product that is made from the first milk a cow produces after giving birth. The bacterien in this are helpful to restore the balance in the colon, apparently. And I must say - it seems to have helped. Another item that made a considerable difference was the avoidance of gluten. There seems to be a connection with LS and thyroid that these people/me have a non celiac gluten sensitivity.
Maybe these experiences are of help to you.
Hi Groky, If I had a change in bowel habit that could not be attributed to a change in my eating habits or medication I would be heading to my GP for a check up. It is always a good idea to check out any changes with our bowels. Simple tests can be done to ensure that nothing is going on.
Thank you hanny. I'll have to check out colostrum. I did have my thyroid out several years ago and never really had any problems, but I'm thinking because of some extreme stress I've been under maybe that has triggered all this LS stuff and other issues. Thank you again for your in put. :0)
Thanks Chrisy, I do have an apt with my gp April 9th so I will bring it up with him. I had been under a lot of stress recentley and maybe that has something to do with it, who knows. I did start weight watchers a month back to eat healthier and am losing weight so maybe it is a change in my diet. Thank you for your suggestion to see my GP.
Stress is bad for both thyroid and LS. Also perhaps have a closer look at your thyroid meds. I have been allergic to one variety and had side affects with another. And are your adrenal glands in balance with the thyroid?
Hanny my thyroid meds have worked good for many years.
My doc is very good about blood test to keep a close watch on my levels. As far as my adrenal glands I'll have to ask. Amazing how there are so many things that go into making our bodies
Run smoothly or not.
