Really feeling at my wits end and need to vent!
9 days ago I had horrendous pain in my upper right side, below the ribs just above the belly button. The pain came and went.
9 days later I’ve still got this pain. The pain radiates through to my back radiates down my abdomen slightly and causes nausea.
Also my bowel movements are lighter than usual. More edging to a yellow, I’m also peeing less.
Now I had an ultrasound which they said my gallbladder looked fine, they’ve done No urine tests or blood work and are saying they don’t feel it would be useful to do them!
The Dr wants to put this down to gastritis. I suffer with gastritis and that’s usually a more central burning pain for me.
I just felt like I needed to talk to people that may have been in a similar position or even if you haven’t but have any thoughts or opinions please feel free to comment.

I think many people feel fobbed off by GPs these days!
Do remember that you have every right to request a second opinion, so make an appointment with another GP in the practice, describe the symptoms and be assertive. The pain you describe and pale stools could well be gallbladder related, but this needs thorough medical investigation. Not all gallbladder issues are caused by stones. A low functioning gallbladder without stones can also cause problems. An ultrasound will show up stones and sludge but it cannot assess gallbladder function - for that you need to have a Hida scan.
Discuss with another GP and request a scan to check your gallbladder function and blood tests. If your pain gets worse take yourself to A&E. Don’t allow yourself to be fobbed off.

I too had a negative ultrasound, but have the same light colored stools, bordering yellowish color…major diarrhea a lot of the time. I also lose my appetite from time to time.
I’ve had many blood draws, chest x-rays, and an endoscopy. so far nothing found.
I finally got the doctor to do the x-rays with the contrast dye. we are gonna check the function of my gallbladder etc. also have a colonoscopy scheduled on the 25th. I feel like im falling apart. its been 9 months of major digestive issues for me.
GP said i will be more healthier after my gallbladder removed. they lied. i asked many times about the side effect of gallbladder removal, surgeon say nothing. they are all lier. it trigger my gastritis after gallbladder removed. they said it is a 14mm polyp, but actually it is just an 12mm stone. they refused to re-scan me. i trusted them, but not anymore. i could keep my GB.
