Has anyone had dry mouth and no appetite whatsoever caused by anxiety. Im 3 weeks now
Hi . Yes this is happening to me right now. I feel nauseous all the time and have to force myself to eat because I am losing weight. I have health anxiety and equate weight loss with illness so it makes the anxiety worse. I'm sorry I don't have a solution but apparently it's a very common anxiety symptom. Doesn't help much though! Yes I've had dry mouth and nausea for the past week.everytime I've had anxiety I get the dry mouth it gets that bad the only thing that helps is sucking on Ice or ice Lollys

Hi to be honest not really this time it hasn't affect my appetite much so not noticed if I lost any weight,but In the past I have lost weight when really stressed an anxious.hope you feel better soon
I had zero appetite until I started abilify.
last few days ive had zero appetite because of health anxiety.. not really noticed a dry mouth though only when i started taking anti depressants then it went dry .it,s a nightmare when you got no appetite..and i feel sick as well. it,s normal for some unfortunately. it will pass though.

The longer i have them the more i get anxious about it. Im even starting to panic that im getting an eating disorder! I get panicky when its time for lunch, dinner. Feel as if everyone wants to eat all the time!!!
I am just the same. Food is the last thing on my mind. I will have a sandwich when I want, or soup. I panic at weekends as like you say everyone seems to revolve round food. Boots sell a wide range of products for dry mouth sufferers, even toothpaste and mouthwash. I find the plain dry mouth spray best as it seems to last longer and produces saliva which helps you to chew and swallow almost normally
Hi, mrssh: If you are taking any kind of antidepressants your mouth will be dry..also, antianxiety meds will do the same thing. You may snore at night with your mouth wide open and wake up to a very dry mouth. I like to chew Extra chewing gum when I go out, and even then that dries up in my mouth most of the time. I have gotten used to it, but come to think about it..it is a real pain...There is something called Biotin that also helps with dry mouth....hope this helps..
mrssh1234 I can't use chewing gum as I have a plate with teeth on and gum just sticks to it. I highly recommend dry mouth toothpaste and use the dry mouth spray. With my medication and anxiety my mouth to be so dry that sometimes I couldn't speak properly and when I did it sounded as if I was drunk as my words sounded slurred!

Abilify is an atypical antipsychotic that's also given to boost the effects of anti depressants like venalfaxine or fluoxetine to increase the antidepressnat and anti anxiety effect. Abilify is aripiprazole. I don't know if it's available in the UK as nobody from there has mentnioned it on the forum but it's prescribed in the U.S.
