I've been terrified of going to the doctor since I was a wee girl.
Now I'm not "wee" anymore by leaps and bounds but I still do the best I can to avoid going to the MD be it for tests, screenings, checkup's and even problems.
I will scour the internet for hours for positive information when I'm worried about something which is often as I do have a raging case of lifelong health anxiety.
I'm doing pretty well except for 2 times when I did have a real illness and waited too long to go for professional medical help yet still I survived both and 'am doing very well.
(Ulcerative colitis and interstitial cystitis)

yes ro…very much like you! I’ve always thought doctors mostly want to put you through unpleasant tests and/or have bad news for you!
(as far as the tests go, I’m fairly sure I’m right!) when was the last time you went to the doc’s and didn’t have him/her order a slew of tests? I realize some of them are necessary for a diagnosis, but COME ON!!
the other thing that really puts me off is an arrogance that many seem to have!
I started calling them by their 1st name years ago! that seems to even the playing field somewhat!
