Just wondered if anyone has had this symptom. It is very unpleasant, doctors do not seem to know what it is and it is causing me to have panic attacks galore. I assumed it was acid reflux but the doctors feel it is hypersensitive gullet and have given me Imipramine to try. I have not found ppis to be helpful but I am scared of them and probably give up too quickly? Regularly throughout the day and night I suddenly get a throatful of burning heat. Sometimes I can cough up mucus as well. Rennies have no effect on it. Last night, it woke me with pulsating, popping and banging throughout GI tract. Sometimes it occurs prior to passing wind. ( Sorry, tmi) I've been diagnosed with LPR but had another laryngoscopy when symptomatic and there was nothing to see. it has been three and a half years and I worry that this has developed into a serious problem with the gullet. I am awaiting a manometry. Anyone had this? Thanks for reading.
