After my LTHR in February I was on aspirin for six weeks and had vertigo for the whole six weeks which was scary as I didn’t want to fall over. Well last week I had a fall scary ( a stair tread broke) but no real harm other than a sore knee. So I took some aspirin for anti inflammatory effect and boom same vertigo back again. It’s taken about a week to stop and just wondered if anyone else has this as a side effect. My next hip is in November so will have to use some other clot prevention
What a horrible side effect to have bridget, certainly not a tablet to take again. I was given fragmin injections for 28 days after my hip operation.
Hello Bridget-
Might have yourself checked for BPV, benign positional vertigo. It can be treated. Best wishes.
Bridget, I have suffered from vertigo on and off for 20 years. While going to physical therapy it came back again and was hindering my progress. The manager of the therapists had been very successful in curing the vertigo by using the eply maneuver so I let him try and that was 3 weeks ago and no more vertigo ! You can search”epley maneuver “ for more information but I still would stay away from the asprin
I was on rivaroxaban for 5 weeks after op. Tiny pink tablet at tea time once a day and no side effects at all. Good luck. My worst nightmare is falling!!
I took rivaroxaban I had the side effect of an enormous blister. I then discovered there are actually quite a few side effects, but it was so much better than having to inject. Because they caused the blister I had to have an operation to debride it and of course had to stop anti coagulants, which was the opposite of what I needed for my hip.
I have had bpv before and the manoeuvre does work but I was surprised that it seemed to be triggered by aspirin or maybe it was a coincidence
