I am going to the ortho doctor in a couple weeks to discuss the continued pain in my shoulder - wanting him to help me figure out if it is frozen shoulder or a rotator tear - the mri said a couple little tears. I have gone to physical therapy ovrer 20 sessions - they have said they think there is a big tear that the mri did not see - so they said see the dr. My husband talked to a ortho ped dr who said they can go in and release the capsule? Has anyone had this done with success?
Hi although I've not had that procedure it is possible there's more damage than visible on your scan. Mine showed no tendon damage however surgery clearly proved there was. Good luck keep talking it helps no end

What surgery did you end up having?
Sub acromonal decompression. SAD.
They shave the bones to allow more space. They also cleaned up a frayed tenton then rotated the arm to release any frozen shoulder.
