Pdoc might put me on them if intrusive thoughts don't go away or something like that and I'm scared of new meds so I need some advice. Anyone on it or have experience of what to expect?
Hi Sophie, can you tell me what mood stabiliser you've been prescribed and what you've been prescribed it for, If it is for intrusive thoughts then they are great.
Ive suffered from anxiety and depression on and off for nearly 20 years and have been prescribed a couple of mood stabilisers including Olanzapine and quietiapine which on label are antipsychotic drugs and used for bi polar disorder but off label are an adjunct to anti depressants. Both are effective at reducing intrusive and troublesome thoughts, they help put things into perspective and not to dwell on them.
Olanzapine worked for me but my new psych took me off it and I relapsed so now on quietiapine alongside my anti depressant.
Let me know what you've been prescribed.
