Since I have been having more symptoms from the gallstone my nails have started splitting and look awful. Even if I try cutting them or use an emery board on them they are still jagged and catch. A few of the nails look like crazy paving effect at the top of the nails.
I have always had long strong healthy nails and this is new to me. Can you get a deficiency with gallstones that may be causing this.
I thought I was the only one with this problem! My nails are started to do the same thing you describe a few months before my operation and are still not back to normal several months after the operation! They are beginning to get better though. I always had very healthy strong nails and suddenly they started just peeling away and looked awful! I also had a small amount of hair loss - not big clumps or anything, but everytime I used my brush it had to be cleaned! I ended up cutting my hair very short and it is getting healthy again now.
Hi, Thank you for you reply. I guess it may be the gallbladder then. I will mention it when I see the consultant again in a couple of months.
Mine were like that, but found out my b12 was very low, now on cause of injections. MIGHT BE WORTH CHECKING OUT.
check out the web as ite regarding ridge nails. Have been amazed at what you can tell from the condition of them.
