If your doctor has told you it’s nothing to worry about then I would trust him. It wouldn’t bother me to be honest. What you could do though is visit your pharmacy to see if they can recommend something to put on it, it may give you peace of mind.
I’ve had this before but I dont recall what caused it. It has been years ago, but I’m still here.

how long did you have it for ? its been nearly a year now
I recall it sticking around for a month or so, but not as long as a year.
If you still worry then get a second opinion. If that doctor says the same, I would face the fact it is a bodily anomaly that has happened to others as well. I too have health anxiety that is sometimes debilitating, so I feel your fear.
Could it be a bruise? Think back if you injured yourself even a week ago?
Did you look up google images for stripe marks on fingernails?
