Anyone not feel at all like themselves during monthly?

I mean emotionally and all that.  I am on estraylla for hormones, had my tubes tied at 8 - 9 years ago, because of a couple of miscarriages at 40+ and new marriage.  Then, put on birth control a little over year ago for hormones, by the way I'm 51 will be 52 in Aug. Also, on some anti-depressants for PTSD and MAD, but have had depression for years because of abuse.  But when it comes to my monthly cycle, I just get to where I don't feel like myself at all.  I mean I almost feel like I hate my life, my family, my husband everything.  I'm either angry, depressed, sad whatever you want to call it.  It's kind of weird, in that I just don't feel like myself AT ALL!! I'm not always a happy person, but this is so ...It's hard to describe except I don't feel like ME!!

The change in your hormones may well be affecting the way your anti-depressants work and thats why you feel so spaced out and not like yourself. This is one of the reasons why I dislike SSRIs being prescribed to try and treat a hormone disorder when they themselves change the chemical balance in the brain and the lack of or surge in hormones can alter those chemicals anyway. Thats why diazepam works so well for anxiety as it works on the body differently. You may need to have your current meds reviewed as they may be doing you more harm than good hun. XXX

Fluoxotine worked for me from day 12 of cycle stopping when period starts.

I'm 52 now in July! Trying taking fluoxotine all the time now as have strange symptoms. Panic. Fuzzy head. Anxiety. I'm trying all the natural stuff too. R and R. Mindfullness. Maca powder. Flax oil/ milled flax. Magnesium with vit D3

Good luck with it all

Thank you rebecca250766.  I am on effexor 150 mg.  So, I'm not sure what other things I can do during that time of month.  What is Maca powder and what does it do?  What does flax oil help with except regularlity?  I take calcium with D3 I think.
