Anyone thought they had anxiety but was something else

wondered if anyone was being told that they have anxiety but finally after tests or however how , they had something else ?

We all suffer Anxiety sometimes, so we may suffer associated sensations associated with that condition. What you need to understand however is if you are an Anxiety Sufferer you need to initially take your own concerns into consideration and look for conditions that are generally not serious. For example a headache we take two Paracetamol and see if the headache goes. Also if you have not seen an opticion for about 6-12 months you arrange to have your eyes checked. Never rush forward to a serious condition, consider something very straight forward first. If you get jaw ache and you have not seen the dentist for twelve months make an appointment to have your teeth checked. This is all part of the general health conditions we need to address before knocking on a Hospital A/E door

I have several health problems and know when I need to treat or visit the GP, you need to gain confidence in diagnosing regular health problems before you rush towards a condition that needs heroic treatments.

I was told I had anxiety, when I had palpitations, shooting and smothering chest pains, a chesty feeling, armpit pain, hot flashes and shivering episodes, cramps in my legs, difficulty taking in a deep breath and pins and needles. I had ECGs, an echocardiogram, 24 hour ecg thing, pulse oximeter and chest X-rays, all of which were normal apart from the fact I had an irregular heartbeat. I organised a CT scan of my chest with contrast and it turned out I had multiple pulmonary emboli!

Do you suffer with anxiety, or have you been told your symptoms are anxiety related? There is a big difference. Even if you do suffer with anxiety, you can usually tell the difference. So many people are misdiagnosed with anxiety when they actually have something else, it is often a lazy diagnosis in my opinion.

Hello moon. Thanks for your opinion. I have the same peoblem from last 4 year. You can read my post

My heart conditions heart sinking . All test normal. Dr said its anxiety. Many cardiologist checked my. The did my ct angio 4 year ago it was normal. Do you think i have need to do contrast ct scan of my chest?. Please guide me. I m very much worry. Please help me.

If you are worried about pulmonary emboli the best thing to do first is get a D-dimer blood test. A CT scan with contrast is not a pleasant experience. There are a few risk factors for PEs the contraceptive pill, HRT or hormonal treatments, smoking, obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, being pregnant or giving birth, having surgery or a broken bone, having cancer and some chemotherapy treatments and high blood pressure. There are others you can look up if you are worried.

Hithere are you still experience in the drop feeling in your chest
