I was on Sertralin for 18 years and functioned nicely on it, then stopped it for 6 months and had a major meltdown with nausea, anxiety and vomiting. I started on Sertraline and it didn't help on the nausea (although I can't be sure if it was anxiety or side effects). I then switched to Cymbalta which seemed to work... just not 100%.
My psychiatrist now wants me back on Sertraline and wants me to stop Cymbalta tonight and take 50 mg of Sertraline.
Anyone tried this?
sorry, meant to say that while taking the sertraline or 16 days I was extremely nausea, didn't sleep or anything... but didn't do so before starting the sertraline either.
Your symptoms are very typical of the early days of sertraline side effects, so it's too early to say if it's going to work just yet. Given it worked for you in the past, I'd say it's worth sticking with to see how it goes. Hope that helps.
I have not started on the sertraline just yet so am still on Cymbalta but my doc wants me to change.
