trying this out but no success, feel worse, any experiences?

I was on Trazodone 150mg till I tapered off a couple of weeks ago.
I initially thought it was good but had terrible panic attacks whilst on it so spoke to my doctor and I am now on Paroxatine which is an SSRI and seems to be better suited to me.

I was on trazadone (I think I was on 400mg) I started on it mainly as a sleeping aid in addition to the other antidepressant I was on. But after a bit of a heart scare my GP was concerned about the other antidepressant so I then was just on the trazadone and went downhill rapidly. I was referred to a psychiatrist who was horrified that I’d been left on trazadone alone. She told me it hardly ever is used as a stand alone antidepressant any more but generally only as an extra to an existing one or to help with sleep as it is quite sedating.
But of course this is only one psychiatrists view. The duty psychiatrist who made the decision when I was on the cardiac ward obviously thought different.
