Apparent menieres

I have had tinnitus in my left ear is where it's started about 2 years ago, I went to the doctor because I had pressure in my ear with ringing in it. I went to the doctor where he prescribed me prednisone 60 mg.  so I then went to see a ent where he injected the steroid right into the ear drum, which hurt like hell. So then it completely went away then a year later I had something happen then the riging in my ear came back, with the pressure, so I went to the dr, he prescribed me the steroids again then I seen a different ent who told me I'm fine and I just have to live with it. So it went away then 3 weeks ago the loud buzzing came back with the pressure in my ear then a week after I woke up to the room spinning, vomiting couldn't walk had a massive migraine. My mom took me to the emerg and al they said was possibly menieres and to follow up with my family doctor. So then a week after that I had this loud ringing with the buzzing and the pressure and also I couldn't take the sounds of anything like a bag or a dish being put down in the counter it's like my ear was sensitive I couldn't handle the sound. So then my mom took me to a different doctor and he prescribed me serc, which helped with the sounds being sensitive, I mean I still have the buzzing and mild pressure I'm starting to learn to cope with it but I mean it's so bothersome I feel like it can make me go crazy or something so I do things to occupy me from thinking of it. I seen something on tv the show was called diagnose me in tlc , the lady in there had the exact symptoms I had but she was diagnosed withdehiscent semicircular canalis. I mean should I bring this up to my doctor and see what she thinks?

I no exactly how you feel I'm waiting for the injections , on serc but not much help was just about getting use to the tinnitus then the vertigo started I find my GP hasn't got a clue about this condition so not very helpful

Hi I started off having labyrinthitis in my 30s I am now late 50s and was diagnosed with menieres last year after having menieres symptoms starting in may last year, the attack were regular until nov.  My GP didnt have any other patients with this condition but she was good enough to get me an ENT hospital appointment.  You sound as if you are a whole lot younger than me.  I say this because it is worth investing some time in the vestibular rehab exercises/balance retraining exercises.  Cawthorne-Cooksey exercises and breathing exercises. They could make your life easier in the long run but check with doctor.  It has taken 3 months to reduce the fullness in my ear ( I use to have all the time once the menieres started), I say reduce but actually most of the time now I dont have the fullness but I am worried to say that it has fully gone.  I take  beta histines regularly. The hospital consultant said that the menieres will probably be worse over hayfever/allergy seasons and I have notices slight inbalances.  I am sure your GP told you to reduce anxieties or stress to reduce the tinnitus.  I now sleep with one pillow which has reduce my neck and shoulder ache.  The memory foam one was no good for me.  I swim three times a week  to stretch out.

The point of all that I have written is that you can live a normal life with it,  there are certain warnings when you are going to get an attack.  Begin to make notes, i make sure I shrug my shoulders as far up to my ears, rotate it gently.  do some breathing exercises if I feel that I could be getting an attack.

There are lots of information on the net about menieres, but it seems the medication and advice varies.

good luck
