When I am having an anxiety attack, start worrying about something or are stressed, I notice that my eyes get very sore, the number of floaters increase, my eyes flash in the dark and I get some form of visual snow.
I have had my retinas checked, and they are healthy. So are my corneas. It has nothing to do with them.
Do you think I am stressing my eyes, and causing these things to happen? It rarely happens when I am not stressed.
Yes! I have had lots of floaters when stressed, mainly bcos I notice them more and obsess about them! If you have had eyes checked then you have nothing to worry about. Anxiety can give you so many physical symptoms - cold extremities, electric zap feelings all over, tiredness, shakes, nausea, headaches, head fog, lethargy etc etc.
Thanks for clarifying things for me. I do notice that when I obsess over a certain body part, it feels worse. Once I stop, the symptoms seem to lessen. Anxiety can exaggerate things sometimes. It's annoying, especially when you think something is genuinely wrong with you.
Hi i have had really bad floaters for about 8 months due to severe anxiety. I also get a flash or bright dot in my peripheral vision sometimes. I also get light 'twitches' when i turn the light off at bed time. I've had eyes checked too and they're ok. I also sometimes get blurring of certain things - e.g the words on sky planner on tv but reading is fine. These things seem to come and go and related to stress anxiety and tiredness. I think these things just come and go. Its rubbish. xx
