Are these symptoms anxiety?

So two nights ago I had an edible (not even 1/4 of a small piece that contained 30mg) which is legal in my state. It was from a dispensary so it was not laced and truthfully speaking I don’t even think it was enough to have any effect since I didn’t even finish the small piece I had gotten.  I was using it to get some good sleep like I occasionally do, since I typically can’t sleep when camping but I also did not feel it was respectful to be high around all my family.

And about 9 hours later I woke up from a truck (assuming it was sleep paralysis) and I’m not sure if the sudden fear spiraled me into a panic attack. I was camping and later found out that my parents and family heard also. But my anxiety had already gotten beyond controllable. It was also very cold and I couldn’t tell if my body was shaking because of the cold or anxiety I also had extreme numbness (which I usually get from anxiety) and I was hyper aware of all the noises around me and my body movements. At the same time I felt like everything was a dream and I began thinking I was dying and wanted to be taken to the hospital.

Now  24 hours since the attack I’m still feeling random bouts of anxiety and panic and I’m not sure if it’s because I keep thinking about it and freaking myself out. I’ve eaten great and was able to enjoy my day yesterday after it went away but I kept occasionally feeling it start to come on again.

Yes it is anxiety and i went through a very similar situation like you...i smoked a blunt on a fishing trip (i dont consume weed often) with some crazy strain of weed (wasnt laced). A few minutes after i took a hit, i immediatley started tripping out and was never the same from that day...huge health anxiety after that day.  While weed can cure anxiety for others it can also trigger it for many people.

Thank you so much for the response. Awful to hear that you still feel bad from the experience. Edibles had been an alternative to anxiety medications for me for the past few years.

Marijuana and anxiety don't mix...now I know there are lots of mixed feelings on this subject but in my opinion I have found that if you already have an issue with anxiety, marijuana will make it worse. And if you don't already have anxiety disorder symptoms marijuana can trigger them. I have had anxiety for years, I never tried marijuana once until I was in my 30s, but I decided to try it once because there are reports that it can possibly help with anxiety. That was NOT my experience at all, I had one of the worst panic attacks ever. I haven't tried it again because I'm not willing to take that chance. Now I know everyone is different and it affects everyone differently so it may help some people but just keep in mind it can also cause anxiety/stress reactions or make them worse. Good Luck!!
