Hello everyone . I would like some input on these symptoms that I keep getting , but don't know they are to do with peri . I am 48 and still having regular periods . I have been suffering with anxiety for some months now and have recently gone on citalopram , an anti depressant . The thing is for just over a week now I have had an unsettled feeling in my stomach and sometimes it just feels really full , at the same time I get this intense feeling of heat and nausea in my middle , sometimes it I can even feel the heat in my legs , most weird . It seems to go as quick as it comes . Is this normal for a hot flush or something else ? I had changed my brand of tablets and wondered if that had affected me , but I have been getting these feelings of heat more recently .
Hi Jane, how is the citalopram helping with your anxiety? It sounds to me like you are getting the hot flashes.
Hi Jane yes definitely all normal symptoms of the start leading up to the menopause .
The citalopram was definitely helping until last week when I started getting these symptoms and then I worry that the anxiety is creeping back in . I have had a stressful helping to clear my mums house and garden following her death last summer . My brother has been living there and we are waiting for him to put it on the market , but he's dragging his heals . This certainly doesn't help matters . I just worry about this nauseous full feeling in my stomach as well .
I completely understand. I am in a similar situation with my house for sale, only its my son living there and not helping matters. I also just had surgery and am trying to recover, it makes for a stressful time. Im on Lexapro, similar to citalopram and its helped a bit with the anxiety, but I still have the nausea.
Hi Jane
From everything I have been reading I get the feeling most of us are getting these anxious feeling where we care just starting the menopause or half way thro along with many other different feeling. My tummy is feeling nervous most of the time.. Donr know why. I have gained lots of weight around my middle too.
In menopause, heat and cold flashes can occur all over. With the anti anxiety prescription, I also used to take, it is good medicine, but there are a long list of side effects for that class of drugs, that could effect your hot feelings also.Read about the Clonazepam thoroughly, and try to limit usage to no more than three months, or in addition to menopausal issues, you will battle benzo addiction as well.NOT FUN,, Good d bless you, Stella42
I get the nausea feeling and full filling also it's hormones then this fluttering in my stomach after that starts to happen I get thrown into anxiety because of it scaring me grrrrrrr after the anxiety is over I feel ill like I have the flu or something hope it gets better for you
