hi there, I got a blood draw today. the lady didn’t alcohol swab my arm and stuck me before I could request it! immediately after that my arm is in pain. I’m super worried about developing a blood infection or some type of bacterial infection… is alcohol swapping completely necessary? what signs and symptoms should I be looking for besides arm pain?
she could have hit a nerve causing the pain. it won’t hurt you it’s just an annoyance. She wasn’t taking her time. The alcohol swab is to get off any germs that are on your skin. you most likely will not get infection, but some of the symptoms are fever, redness and swelling in the area. the needle she uses is sterile. u should be ok!
