I have these armpit black patches. They are sometimes itchy. I have had them for 4-5 months now. I went to doctor and took over the counter medications but it didn't help. Please tell me what to do. I am 16 years old.
what did your doctor say they were? Were you given any sort of medication? Sometimes these are quite natural and can be caused by shaving and sunbathing,but as you are only 16 and male[?] I wonder if this applies to you. If these have only just appeared I would go back to the doctor.
The doctor said that it was due to sweat. and I didn't shave my underarms. I am male.
Yes,they can be caused by sweat especially if you have a darker skintone. There are some old fashioned remedies you can try. Rub with a cut lemon. Rub with a cut potato. There isnt a lot you can do...sometimes they fade slightly as you get older,but not always.
