joint pain ,swelling particularly hands and feet had for one year almost constantly.Had bloods ,xray and bone scan all ok any ideas

I'm sorry to read that you are suffering so and have seemingly been unable to get a definitive diagnosis.
As you will have read, we are mostly sufferers of PMR and/or GCA on here and some sufferers do experience the joint pain and swelling of hands and feet that you describe. The main symptoms are pain in the muscle areas around the pelvic and shoulder girdles and down the front of the thighs.
As far as blood tests are concerned, many people with these conditions show raised inflammatory markers at the outset pre diagnosis; however, a few sufferers are diagnosed by symptoms alone as the inflammation of PMR doesn't show up in the blood results of about 1 in 5 people - in these cases, many GPs prescribe a dose of steroids following which if there is a rapid relief in pain, then a diagnosis of PMR is generally made.

Ditto everything Mrs O has said and I do hope you will get some relief soon. I'm one of those that was diagnosed mainly by my response to steroids and my symptoms as my bloods were hardly raised at all. Take care and keep in touch
