my osteoarthritis is affecting my neck I can hardly move it without cracking and pain laying down is so painful, it is affecting my upper back and it even hurts to breath sometimes. It's bad enough having it in my lower back hands lower arms and right knee, it just feels like my whole body hurts, I take tramadol but it is doing nothing....
Hello Lyn, You need to go back to your GP you may have trapped a nerve. I have Osteoarthritis so i understand the pain. Tramodol is not always the best drug to take, there are lots of others to try. You may need something like Amitriptyline which helps you sleep. I also have nerve pain from my Arthritis so now take another drug for that. Get checked out and tell your GP that Tramodol is not working.

Hi Lynn so sorry to hear you're in such agony. My OA too has spread from its original site and into my upper arms and hands, horrible isn't it. I have to agree with Elizabeth, do enquire about alternative pain relief, my GP group practice won't prescribe Tramadol anymore, firstly its not so effective with OA pain as other pain and secondly its terribly addictive. I also concur with her that your present neck problems may well be a trapped nerve or similar and there are specific meds for that issue. I had a trapped nerve in my trapezial muscle - it was hell on earth, I had physio and a TENS machine treatment alongside some muscle relaxant meds and it finally went away - what joy when it did. I will be going back to doctor have to wait 3 weeks no appointments at all. I am 62 have had osteoarthritis for 20years now, my sister has osteoporosis my mum had rheumatoid arthritis, my dad used to wear a back support and my older son of 42 has back problems and now my 21 year has back problems too. So must run in the family, I was taking cocodamol and gabepentine but that did not work either. I can cope with the lower back but this neck arms hands and pain between shoulders is horrible, I did have this before Christmas then it seemed to ease now it's come back worse than ever.
