I dint want to be 52 with a mouthfull of dentures x
I’m so sorry to hear this!!! I get such anxiety with the dentist as well-- last time I kept cancelling my appts. You have bone loss with your teeth? I would do blood test and make sure levels are OK so you don’t start with osteoarthritis. It seems like I’m always having issues with my teeth so I have been oil pulling for a couple years now-- I think this helps with a lot and you may want to look into this especially a couple times a day. It could help the infection!!!I also have this gum/teeth powder that I bought online and when my teeth are sore I use this!! You may want to look at what kinds of food you are eating. There’s a bunch of theories about milk and butter and all that for your teeth.
Hi Michelle,
Well you won’t believe this but I was going to post this exact title as soon as I was feeling up to it.
I had dental hell week too! Can you believe it?
On Wednesday I had pain in my left molar, went to the dentist and he couldn’t find anything on the scan, but saw that I had an infection in my opposite molar. So I went directly to an endodontist who did a root canal and while I was having that done the original tooth flared up and I couldn’t even touch it with my tongue. It was an old root canal tooth that fractured. So on Friday I had to have it out. They knocked me out as my jaw isn’t flexible enough to have done the surgery, it locked when I was having the root canal. So now, ever since Friday I’m so sick again, all the old symptoms back and I’m not sure if any of it is from the dental work or anesthesia.
I agree, isn’t it enough to have all this other crap to deal with, do we have to have teeth problems too? It just doesn’t seem fair.
Not sure what your dental costs there, but I’m in about 4 grand just for these two teeth. And that’s not including any reconstruction on the root canal tooth. Think I’m just going to let the other molar empty since it’s my very back one. Last year I had to have one taken out too. Hormones must have something to do with it.
My husband joked that as long as I have one tooth left to open my beer bottles I’m all good.
Nothing worse than dental.
XOXOXOXO
Hi hun
Honestly my teeth are getting loser by the week
The two that need to come out are already loose
My treatment with partial denture is over £2,000
I will probably take one out at a time
I freak out in the denist!!!
But i freak out at just about anything since this stupid ridiculous menopause x
i am so sorry you are going through this. its just not fair!! i am in peri now and havent experienced this yet. did you experience problems during peri or only after menopause. is there any way to help prevent it?
same here, tooth pain, jaw pain, face pain, terrified of dentist but have to go. one of my teeth broke while eating a taco a couple of weeks ago. A taco?! really?! so over all of it! hope you ladies have better days ahead!
Hello Michelle,
I too understand this crazy tooth thing you are talking about. I was eating a soft fried potato last year and broke my back moler, a soft fried potato. How crazy is that??? It seems like it is something new everyday. My heart is out of rhythm again and I am facing a 3rd heart ablation sometime this spring. I have always eaten right, never smoked, never drank alcohol and always tried to take care of myself. When this menopause phase of life started it is like none of that has made any difference. It is like menopause has a mind of its own and is determined to destroy my health and my mind. I am no longer the woman I was before all of this, I have completely changed. Just know you are not alone in all of this and I know that helps in a small way. I pray JESUS will send you comfort, peace and calm. He is our only real hope. I will be lifting you in prayer. GOD Bless ![]()

Hi Cass63
I actually couldnt have put it better myself
You describe it perfectly
I am a believer and i do pray im sure i have spoken to you before on another thread
I hate the thought of partial dentures but there doesnt seem to be an alternative
I cannot have implants as i have too much bone loss
I was really hoping things would improve post meno for me but i also know its early days yet
Im only 18 months post
My prayer right now is for God to provide the finance i need for all the dental work which i know he will
I like you am praying for better days ahead x
I have also developed tooth problems. Constant toothache, sore gums, sensitivity.
I don’t know which area you live in but there should be a helpline to find you an NHS dentist. You can also try 111 as they now have an option for dental care. Try your council website. I am in Staffordshire and there are NHS dentists with space here although I have gone private due to other health issues.
