Ashamed of my anxiety

Hi, it’s me again posting! I have been suffering from anxiety ever since binge drinking and smoking weed for three days in a row in January, and it hasn’t stopped since. I’ve been suffering from bad tension headaches, heart racing, vision problems, muscle cramping and many more! I’ve been suffering from EXTREME bad depersonalization (has anyone experienced this?) I’ve been trying for months to manage this, but it seems like it’s been a life-time of these symptoms. I have never had any issues with any mental health problems or crippling anxiety like this before, so it’s taken a huge toll on my life, health and mental health. I almost feel like I’ll be stuck like this forever, I don’t feel like myself anymore. I always focus on what my body’s doing, like “how I see differently” “My breathing feels off” etc, etc. It’s quite exhausting. However, I’ve been trying to do this all without medication. I really don’t want to be dependent on medication, or go through that process, it gives me anxiety about taking anxiety meds ironically! Has anyone ever recovered from anxiety without taking medications, and for those who do take meds, does it really help?

Medications are dependent only if you overused or abused. My grandma taking for benzo 0.5mg for 40 years and she is quite healthy and free of all diseases

i am sorry you are feeling like this. There is help available so you dont have to feel this way. You can get a therapist and a psychiatrist. The therapist to talk things out with and the psychiatrist to get good medication to help you. I would start with my GP and see if they can give you a benzo to help you immediately. But long term medications are worth their weight in gold and you are going to need those as well. There’s nothing to be embarassed or ashamed about. Your brain gets sick like any other part of the body. its not your fault and you didnt ask for it. Just think of your self as special, like having a 6th sense. We are more in tuned to our bodies and we feel things others overlook. We are like this and have this gift so we can help others. Thats the positive way to think about this. Anyway, get some medication and you will be feeling yourself again in no time.
