My sister has RA for three years, she takes Sulphasalazine, which is the best she has tried so far. Just lately she has been getting migraines, which she hasn't ha for many years......her readings for thickness of her blood is 16.......(hope you know what I mean) she is wondering if this has anything to do with it, as doctor said we don't want the number going any higher. Any thoughts on this please.......thank you.
I think that must be her Prothrombin time.
No - that number is not causing the migraines.
That is for that....
Dear Linda if you don't mind me asking how long as she been on sulphasalazine they gave me at first methotrexate at first that made me so ill then sulphasalazine with something else being with H my memory is not that good of late and that gave me bad head sickness and really bad coughing fits then leflunomide now sometimes it takes a good amount of time before you body systems start to operate right or wrong if your sister as been on them tablets for some time it could be that sulphasalazine is working and could be that it need to be addressed . Migraines or bad some people can have a good laugh about it its now nice at all see what the blood count is next go to the doctors or if the migraines or that bad that they take you off you feet call them out get in-touch with RA clinic ASP tell them about it the tablets i had a bad time on Sulphasalazine but each person is different my best wishes go out to you and you sister all the best Maxwell .
Hi Linda, I wasn’t very successful with Sulhasalazine. After a while I started with horrible headaches like I had never experienced before. I had to go to bed with strong painkillers. I had no history of migraines or such like but they stopped as soon as I stopped taking the Sulphasalazine. I can’t comment on the blood readings. Hope she gets sorted soon. Best wishes. Carol
