At home testing, does it work please help

So I tested myself with mylabbox for hsv2. At 6 weeks and 4 days. It came back negative.

Should I trust these results? How accurate are they? Has anyone else done at home tests?

I don’t know much about at home testing. How is the sample taken?

So they send you a lot and they have you put blood on some kind of special paper and send it back in.

So on the results, it says how they test:

(The Herpes 2 ELISA IgG test is a qualitative test for detecting the presence or absence of human immunoglobulin G (IgG) class antibodies to HSV-2 in human blood.)

Send you a kit*

What makes you suspect HSV? It really depends how long you’ve had it as to whether you’d have enough antibodies present to test positive.

The guy told me after, we did use a condom. And I've been having strange symptoms for like 2 months. No lesions and i did the test at 6 weeks and 4 days from that day.

I can only really tell you my experience. I had sex and within 3 days, sores showed up EVERYWHERE! I had the skin culture done but the doctor looked at it and pretty much said that it was herpes. Of course the culture came back positive. Then I gave it to someone (not on purpose) and his showed up within a week. So, I would think that by 6 weeks post exposure, the blood test would be accurate.
