I am desperately hoping somebody can offer some advice I had a full hysterectomy in feb this year I had trouble emptying stool before
operation it gets trapped above internal sphinctre causing pain discomfort and irritation dr thought it was my cervix causing the problem as it was attached to back wall. Since surgery this has got so much worse I need to find a competent dr to help as sick of being passed from dr to dr I am in north west uk and am willing to pay for initial consultation but should it be gyni or colorectal. The last colorectal I had had a lovely bedside manner but didn’t even examine me he said could be prolapse or intersusseption as no rectocele but offered no help any suggestions please I cannot carry on like this getting desperate
Ask your GP to give you referl to a good specialist and you will pay privet as Long as they specialize in your problems
Keep pushing doctors for diagnosis no matter how long it takes. I had similar issues and it went thru several docs and finally a gastroenterologist doc to diagnose gallstones. It was all in my galbladder had stones. Had it removed a what a relief to finally get thru the day . It’s a matter of diet and exercise pain and quality of life. I hope you continue to search for the solution to your issues and get better soon.
I have the trouble defecating and it turned out I have rectal prolapse . I have to get a Hysterectomy due to an in large ovary and then my colon rectal doctor will reattach my fallen pelvic floor. Research pelvic floor issues and go to a specialist that deals with that. That’s my suggestion.
Dear Karen:
I agree with all the other contributors. Get your GP to refer you to a specialist gastroenterologist. In the meantime a diet rich in fibre might help. My own problem is because of surgery to remove a cyst from the sacrum I am partially paralysed in the rectal area which makes evacuation very difficult (I am doubly incontinent). Best of luck in your search for a reputable specialist.
Thank you Janet I have an appointment with gastro on 29th I too had a cyst removed when I had my hysterectomy in feb this year
